26 LC 129 1096 House Resolution 1938 By: Representatives Paris of the 142nd, Washburn of the 144th, Griffin of the 149th, Herring of the 145th, and Jones of the 143rd A RESOLUTION Commending Dr. Delvecchio S. Finley; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, Dr. Delvecchio S. Finley is an accomplished healthcare executive whose2 leadership and service have strengthened major health systems and advanced patient-centered3 care across the United States; and4 WHEREAS, his exemplary career includes previous service as chie f executive officer of5 Alameda Health System, chief executive officer of LA County/Har bor-UCLA Medical6 Center, and interim chief operating officer for Laguna Honda Ho spital and Rehabilitation7 Center; and8 WHEREAS, in 2021, he returned to Georgia to join Atrium Health Navicent following its9 strategic combination with Atrium Health, bringing extensive ex pertise to support10 systemwide integration, operational alignment, and long-term growth; and11 WHEREAS, as president of Atrium Health Navicent, he now leads o ne of the largest12 nonprofit and leading academic health systems in the United States, providing organizational13 direction, advancing strategic initiatives, and overseeing the adoption of new technologies14 that position the institution to meet evolving healthcare needs; and15 H. R. 1938 - 1 - 26 LC 129 1096 WHEREAS, a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, he currently serves16 as chairman-elect of the organization and has previously served as a board member of the17 American Hospital Association as well as chair of the America's Essential Hospitals Institute;18 and19 WHEREAS, Dr. Delvecchio S. Finley contributes substantially to statewide leadership in20 Georgia as a board member of the Georgia Hospital Association, the Georgia Chamber of21 Commerce, the Georgia Alliance of Community Hospitals, Central Georgia Health Network,22 Secure Health, Vizient Southern States, and the Georgia Research Alliance; and23 WHEREAS, he has earned national recognition for his accomplishm ents, including24 placement on Modern Healthcare's Top 25 Minorities in Healthcar e Watch List as well as25 Modern Healthcare's Up and Comers Award and the American Colleg e of Healthcare26 Executives' Robert S. Hudgens Young Healthcare Executive of the Year Award; and27 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this exceptio nal individual be28 appropriately honored during this special time.29 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that30 the members of this body commend Dr. Delvecchio S. Finley for his exceptional leadership31 and transformative contributions to healthcare as well as extended best wishes for continued32 success33 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized34 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Dr.35 Delvecchio S.
