HR1903: HR1903 East Laurens Lady Falcons basketball team; victory in the GHSA Class A/Division I Girls State Championship; commend

26 LC 112 4050 House Resolution 1903 By: Representative Hatchett of the 155th A RESOLUTION Commending the East Laurens Lady Falcons basketball team for their victory in the GHSA1 Class A/Division I Girls State Championship; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, the East Laurens Lady Falcons basketball team, led by Head Coach Danielle3 Lowther, captured the GHSA Class A/Division I Girls State Championship by defeating the4 Elbert County Blue Devils with a final score of 63-55 in a hard -fought contest, displaying5 remarkable athleticism, determination, and sportsmanship; and6 WHEREAS, this championship marks the first state title in school history and the first state7 championship appearance for the Lady Falcons, making the achievement especially historic8 and noteworthy; and9 WHEREAS, the team's success is the result of the dedication, discipline, and teamwork of10 its outstanding student-athletes, including Amari Kellam, Garyunna Mitchell, D'Nya Rozier,11 Alasia Wiggins, DeAndrea Lowther, Zahmaria Robinson, Miyah Smit h, Jameria Bing,12 Deanna Lowther, Kiley Canady, Mykia Harris, Layla Tanner, Quean Washington, Rakiyah13 Turner, and Nyzia Atkins; and14 H. R. 1903 - 1 - 26 LC 112 4050 WHEREAS, the Lady Falcons have brought great pride and recognition to East Laurens High15 School and the surrounding community, serving as an inspiration to students and citizens16 alike.17 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that18 the members of this body commend the East Laurens Lady Falcons basketball team for their19 outstanding accomplishment and for bringing pride and distincti on to their school and20 community.21 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized22 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the23 East Laurens Lady Falcons basketball team.24 H.
