26 LC 112 4036 House Resolution 1905 By: Representatives Neal of the 79th, Burnough of the 77th, Scott of the 76th, Bell of the 75th, and Flournoy of the 74th A RESOLUTION Recognizing March 31, 2026, as Morrow Day at the state capitol; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, located in Clayton County, Georgia, the City of Morrow is best known for its2 retail centers, educational institutions, and importance as par t of the Atlanta metropolitan3 area; and4 WHEREAS, the city was formally incorporated in 1943, and it has since grown to cover an5 area of between three and four square miles as well as a population of nearly 8,000 residents;6 and7 WHEREAS, the city is home to Clayton State University, a major public school known for8 its exceptional business, nursing, and aviation programs as well as Spivey Hall, a cherished9 concert venue; and10 WHEREAS, the Southlake Mall is one of the largest shopping cent ers on Atlanta's south11 side, and retail along Mount Zion Road and Jonesboro Road constitutes the majority of the12 city's commercial activity; and13 H. R. 1905 - 1 - 26 LC 112 4036 WHEREAS, the city further serves as host to numerous local even ts and civic activities14 throughout the year, including community festivals, business ri bbon cuttings, cultural15 celebrations, and recognition ceremonies; and16 WHEREAS, it is abundan tly fitting and proper that this remarkable city be appropriately17 honored during this special time.18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that19 the members of this body recognize March 31, 2026, as Morrow Day at the state capitol and20 extend best wishes for future health, happiness, and success to the citizens of the City of21 Morrow.22 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized23 and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution avai lable for distribution to the24 public and the press.25 H.
