26 LC 129 1381 House Resolution 1927 By: Representatives Bell of the 75th, Sampson of the 153rd, Kendrick of the 95th, Paris of the 142nd, and Myles of the 126th A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending the honorable service of Dexter L. S harper and expressing1 gratitude for his many years of dedicated service to the citizens of the State of Georgia; and2 for other purposes.3 WHEREAS, the members of the Georgia House of Representatives wi sh to recognize the4 outstanding public service rendered by Dexter L. Sharper, who faithfully served the citizens5 of House District 177 with integrity, commitment, and leadership; and6 WHEREAS, Representative Sharper has devoted more than three decades of his life to public7 service, beginning with local leadership in Valdosta and Lownde s County and continuing8 through his service in the Georgia House of Representatives after being first elected in 2012;9 and10 WHEREAS, throughout his tenure in the General Assembly, Representative Sharper worked11 diligently to advocate for the people of his district, championing initiatives that strengthened12 communities, supported local institutions, and advanced opportu nities for families and13 businesses across South Georgia; and14 H. R. 1927 - 1 - 26 LC 129 1381 WHEREAS, prior to and alongside his legislative service, Dexter Sharper served the15 community as a city councilman and mayor pro tem, further demon strating his deep16 commitment to civic leadership and responsible governance; and17 WHEREAS, Representative Sharper has also served the people of G eorgia in the field of18 emergency medical services as a dedicated paramedic, providing lifesaving care and support19 to countless individuals during times of urgent need; and20 WHEREAS, his career has been defined by a spirit of service, leadership, and mentorship,21 and his contributions have made a lasting impact on the citizen s of Valdosta, Lowndes22 County, and the State of Georgia; and23 WHEREAS it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstandin g accomplishments and24 public service of this distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.25 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that26 the members of this body commend Dexter L. Sharper for his many years of dedicated27 service and extend their sincere appreciation for his contributions to the citizens of the State28 of Georgia.29 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized30 and directed to make an appr opriate copy of t his resolution ava ilable for distribution to31 Dexter L.
