26 LC 129 1228 House Resolution 1901 By: Representative Powell of the 33rd A RESOLUTION Honoring the life and memory of Buck Chapman; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, the State of Georgia mourns the loss of one of its most distinguished citizens2 with the passing of Buck Chapman on December 3, 2025; and3 WHEREAS, Buck Chapman was born on November 23, 1948, a beloved son of Wilbur and4 Myra Chapman; and5 WHEREAS, he served as a guardian of this nation's freedom and l iberty with the United6 States Army, valiantly and courageously protecting his fellow Americans; and7 WHEREAS, a man of deep and abiding faith, Buck was an active member of Hartwell First8 Methodist Church; and9 WHEREAS, he was united in love and marriage to his wife of 55 y ears, Rita, and was10 blessed with two remarkable children, Lisa and Brad, and two wonderful grandchildren, Eli11 and Lila; and12 H. R. 1901 - 1 - 26 LC 129 1228 WHEREAS, he gave inspiration to many through his high ideals, morals, and deep concern13 for his fellow citizens, and the devotion, patience, and understanding he demonstrated to his14 family and friends were admired by others; and15 WHEREAS, he was a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation16 for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness, and by the example he made of his life, he17 made this world a better place in which to live; and18 WHEREAS, a compassionate and generous man, Buck will long be remembered for his love19 of family, friendship, and community and will be missed by all who had the great fortune of20 knowing him.21 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that22 the members of this body join in honoring the life and memory o f Buck Chapman and23 express their deepest and most sincere regret at his passing.24 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized25 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the26 family of Buck Chapman.27 H.
