A RESOLUTION
Commending Paulding County's social workers during National Social Worker Month; and1
for other purposes.2
WHEREAS, Social Work is a profession truly dedicated to helping people, and Paulding3
County employs 49 Social Workers through its Department of Fami ly and Children's4
Services; and5
WHEREAS, Social Workers are dedicated to enhancing well-being a nd helping meet the6
basic needs of all people, especially the most vulnerable in our society; and7
WHEREAS, Social Workers follow a Code of Ethics that calls on t hem to fight social8
injustice and respect the dignity and worth of all people; and9
WHEREAS, Social Workers meet people where they are and help people and communities10
reach their full potential; and11
WHEREAS, Social Workers positively touch the lives of millions of Americans each day12
and in a variety of places, including schools, hospitals, the military, child welfare agencies,13
community centers, and in local, state, and federal government; and14

WHEREAS, Social Workers have helped people cope with death and grief and communities15
recover from natural disasters, including hurricanes, drought, and flooding; and16
WHEREAS, Social Workers are the largest group of mental healthc are providers in the17
United States, working daily to help thousands of Americans overcome mental illness.18
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that19
the members of this body commend Paulding County's social worke rs during this year's20
National Social Worker Month for their outstanding service on b ehalf of those in need as21
well as extend best wishes for continued success.22
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized23
and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution avai lable for distribution to the24
public and the press.25
