26 LC 129 1479 House Resolution 1935 By: Representatives Crawford of the 89th, Leverett of the 123rd, and Burchett of the 176th A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Dr. Stephanie Dean Kerce and the Georgia General Assembly1 Special Event Interns from Georgia State University; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, Dr. Stephanie Dean Kerce has exemplified distinguished leadership and3 unwavering dedication to higher education during her tenure ser ving as the Georgia State4 University Faculty Director for the Georgia Legislative Interns hip Program (GLIP),5 overseeing collaboration with colleges and universities across Georgia to recruit and prepare6 student interns for service at the state capitol; and7 WHEREAS, in this capacity, Dr. Kerce and the Office of General Counsel for the Georgia8 General Assembly collaborated to create a Georgia General Assem bly Special Event9 Internship Program that provides the opportunity for students to volunteer and support the10 Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Seminars presented by the Office of General Counsel on11 behalf of the Georgia General Assembly; and 12 WHEREAS, the Special Event Interns actively participated in eve nt logistics, setup, and13 coordination of the CLE events, which are regularly attended by more than one hundred14 attorneys from the legislative, judicial, and executive branches of state government and from15 the federal and local government; and 16 H. R. 1935 - 1 - 26 LC 129 1479 17 WHEREAS, the Special Event Interns consistently demonstrate exc eptional work ethic,18 creativity, and teamwork throughout every event, and their enth usiasm and dedication are19 evident in their willingness to take initiative and adapt to new challenges; and 20 WHEREAS, attendees and staff have commended the interns for the ir professionalism,21 positive attitude, and attention to detail, all of which contribute to the overall success of the22 events; and 23 24 WHEREAS, participation in the Special Event Internship Program provides students with25 invaluable opportunities, including a certificate of service, t he ability to expand their26 networks, instruction from notable speakers, and a firsthand lo ok into the legislature,27 enhancing their prospects for professional success; and 28 29 WHEREAS, these valuable experiences not only enrich the interns ' academic journey but30 also provides them with the opportunity to develop critical skills for their future careers; and31 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that these exempla ry individuals, whose32 leadership, dedication, and service exemplify the highest standards, be appropriately honored33 during this special time: Dr. Stephanie Dean Kerce, Ben Bradley, KC Burney, Victoria Cook,34 Karissa Cox, Tylah Dennis, Alexia Dunnon, Isabel Fraire, Meliss a Vazquez-Guzman,35 Zandria Hampton, Elisa Heinzelmann, Maise Khreim, Caleb Johnson , Reaghan Malone,36 Jazmin Mejia, Christiana Mvovi, Pia Saraswat, Kira Slevin, Bren da Washington, Mary37 Wedey, Alexis Weeks, and Angie Zapata.38 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that39 the members of this body recognize and commend Dr. Stephanie De an Kerce and the40 H. R. 1935 - 2 - 26 LC 129 1479 Georgia General Assembly Special Event Interns for their outstanding leadership, ongoing41 service, and zeal to be of assistance to the Office of General Counsel and the Georgia42 General Assembly, and extend sincere best wishes for their cont inued success and future43 endeavors.44 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized45 and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution avai lable for distribution to Dr.46 Stephanie Dean Kerce and each of the Georgia General Assembly S pecial Event Interns47 named herein.48 H.
