26 LC 129 1513 House Resolution 1923 By: Representative Scott of the 76th A RESOLUTION Honoring the life and legacy of Sister Bessie Mae (Harrison) Manuel; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, Sister Bessie Mae (Harrison) Manuel was born on Decemb er 21, 1930, in2 Gadsden County, Florida, to the late Goldie Ervin Harrison and the late John Spencer3 Harrison; and4 WHEREAS, she received her education through the Gadsden County Public School System5 and, at an early age, accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior, becoming a devoted and faithful6 member of Hopewell A.M.E. Church, where she served with unwavering dedication; and7 WHEREAS, in 1948, she was united in holy matrimony to the late George Manuel, Sr., and8 together they built a loving and strong family foundation, rais ing four children with care,9 discipline, and faith; and10 WHEREAS, Sister Manuel was a woman of grace, strength, and compassion, whose life was11 a reflection of her deep faith, her love for family, and her commitment to serving others; and12 WHEREAS, she leaves to cherish her precious memories her loving children: three13 daughters, Gloria, Mary Jane, and Edna; one son, George Manuel, Jr.; along with her beloved14 H. R. 1923 - 1 - 26 LC 129 1513 grandchildren, great-grandchild, extended family, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and15 dear friends; and16 WHEREAS, her legacy is one of faith, resilience, love, and serv ice-qualities that will17 continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her; and18 WHEREAS, Sister Bessie Mae Manuel's life stands as a testament to the power of faith,19 family, and community, leaving an indelible mark on generations to come.20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that21 the members of this body honor the life and legacy of Sister Bessie Mae (Harrison) Manuel,22 celebrating her remarkable journey and the love she shared with all.23 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those24 who knew and loved her, and her legacy will continue to shine t hrough her family and25 community.26 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized27 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the28 family of Sister Bessie Mae (Harrison) Manuel.29 H.
