26 LC 129 1433 House Resolution 1918 By: Representatives Hugley of the 141st, Park of the 107th, Frye of the 122nd, Adesanya of the 43rd, Cannon of the 58th, and others A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Representative Carl Gilliard; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, Representative Carl Gilliard has long been recognized by the citizens of this2 state for the vital role that he has played in leadership and his deep personal commitment to3 the welfare of the citizens of Georgia; and4 WHEREAS, he has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of his time,5 talents, and energy toward the betterment of his community and state as evidenced6 dramatically by his superlative service with the Georgia House of Representatives; and7 WHEREAS, Representative Gilliard's significant organizational a nd leadership talents,8 remarkable patience and diplomacy, keen sense of vision, and sensitivity to the needs of the9 citizens of this state have earned him the respect and admirati on of his colleagues and10 associates; and11 WHEREAS, this distinguished gentleman has given inspiration to many through his high12 ideals, morals, and deep concern for his fellow citizens, and he possesses the vast wisdom13 which only comes through experience and the strength of charact er which is achieved14 through overcoming the many challenges of life; and15 H. R. 1918 - 1 - 26 LC 129 1433 WHEREAS, he is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for16 integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; and17 WHEREAS, Representative Gilliard has served with honor and distinction with the Georgia18 House of Representatives, and his vision and unyielding commitm ent to the citizens of19 Georgia have set the standard for public service; and20 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this21 remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.22 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that23 the members of this body recognize and commend Representative C arl Gilliard for his24 efficient, effective, unselfish, and dedicated public service to the State of Georgia and extend25 the most sincere best wishes for continued health and happiness.26 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized27 and directed to make an appr opriate copy of t his resolution ava ilable for distribution to28 Representative Carl Gilliard. 29 H.
