HR1920: HR1920 Legal externs for the 2026 regular session of the General Assembly of Georgia; commend

26 LC 112 4009 House Resolution 1920 By: Representatives Gunter of the 8th and Smith of the 18th A RESOLUTION Commending the legal externs for the 2026 regular session of th e General Assembly of1 Georgia; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, each year, the Georgia General Assembly relies on staff members to ensure that3 the business of the chambers runs efficiently, smoothly, and effectively; and4 WHEREAS, the Georgia General Assembly has been very fortunate t o have had the5 exceptional service of session externs whose work is consistent ly marked by a constant6 commitment to the highest standards of excellence; and7 WHEREAS, this year's legal externs for House Committees and Joint Offices are students8 from the Georgia State University College of Law, the Mercer University School of Law, and9 the Emory University School of Law; and10 WHEREAS, the following individuals have greatly served their of fices and committees11 throughout the 2026 Legislative Session: Malia Roberson and Lil y Robles, Office of12 Legislative Counsel; Lauren Tousignant, House Judiciary Committee; Matt Wagner, House13 Judiciary Non-Civil Committee; and Ben Bradley, Rachel Dorsey, and Cayla Clark, Office14 of General Counsel for the Georgia General Assembly; and15 H. R. 1920 - 1 - 26 LC 112 4009 WHEREAS, through their externships, these students have received hands-on training in the16 practical application of the law, insight into the professional obligations of being an attorney,17 and real world experience with the lawmaking process; and18 WHEREAS, the unique opportunity to participate as a session ext ern has undoubtedly19 enriched the academic study these students have completed, and they are abundantly20 deserving of recognition during this special time.21 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that22 the members of this body commend the legal externs for the 2026 regular session of the23 General Assembly of Georgia on their superb performance and extend the most sincere best24 wishes for success in their future pursuits.25 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized26 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to each27 of the externs named herein.28 H.
