SR1055: SR1055 Mary Persons FFA Forestry Team; congratulate and commend

26 LC 112 4120 Senate Resolution 1055 By: Senator McNeel of the 18th A RESOLUTION Congratulating and commending the Mary Persons FFA forestry team for winning the 20251 National FFA Forestry Career Development Event; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, the Mary Persons FFA forestry team achieved national distinction by securing3 first place in the 2025 National FFA Forestry Career Developmen t Event, held during the4 98th National FFA Convention & Expo in Indianapolis, Indiana; and5 WHEREAS, the team members, Ryan Bertram, Liam Parks, Joseph Thompson, and Carter6 Johnson, represented the State of Georgia with excellence throu gh their knowledge,7 preparation, and performance in this highly competitive national event; and8 WHEREAS, the National FFA Forestry Career Development Event is designed to develop9 students' understanding of forestry principles, including forest ecology, sustainability, and10 the economic and environmental impact of forest resources; and11 WHEREAS, participants in this rigorous event demonstrate proficiency in identifying tree12 species, analyzing environmental and social factors affecting forest management, applying13 silvicultural practices, conducting forest inventory, and utilizing appropriate tools and safety14 procedures in forestry management; and15 S. R. 1055 - 1 - 26 LC 112 4120 WHEREAS, their accomplishment brings great credit to their school, their community, and16 the State of Georgia, exemplifying the strength of agricultural education and career17 development programs within this state; and18 WHEREAS, the success of these outstanding students serves as an example of the value of19 career and technical education in preparing young people for fu ture leadership and20 professional opportunities in forestry and natural resource management.21 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body22 congratulate and commend the Mary Persons FFA forestry team for winning the 202523 National FFA Forestry Career Development Event and extend their best wishes for continued24 success.25 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed26 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the Mary Persons27 FFA forestry team.28 S.
