26 LC 112 4110 House Resolution 1997 By: Representative Scott of the 76th A RESOLUTION Honoring the life and memory of Mr. Tommy Harrison; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, Mr. Tommy Harrison was born on March 3, 1924, in Decatur County, Georgia,2 the beloved son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Spencer Harrison; and3 WHEREAS, at an early age, he moved to Havana, Florida, where he spent the remainder of4 his life building a legacy of family, service, and community; and5 WHEREAS, in 1946, he was united in holy matrimony to Mrs. Louis e Dotson Harrison,6 daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Dave Dotson of Havana, Florida, and this loving union was7 blessed with six children; and8 WHEREAS, Mr. Harrison was a devoted husband, father, and family man who exemplified9 strength, dignity, and commitment throughout his life; and10 WHEREAS, on June 20, 1969, Mr. Tommy Harrison departed this lif e at Tallahassee11 Memorial Hospital, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories; and12 H. R. 1997 - 1 - 26 LC 112 4110 WHEREAS, he is survived by his loving wife, Mrs. Louise Harrison; four daughters, Mrs.13 Glenn LaVern Jackson, Miss Sandra Louise Harrison, Miss Dorothy Lee Harrison, and Miss14 Sarah Ann Harrison; two sons, Mr. Tommie Harrison Jr. and Mr. L awrence Edward15 Harrison; his father, Mr. John Spencer Harrison; five sisters, Mrs. Bessie Mae Manuel, Miss16 Letha Harrison, Mrs. Mattie Grice, Mrs. Betty Dickey, and Mrs. Mamie Givens; one brother,17 Mr. Henry Harrison; grandchildren, extended family, and a host of nieces, nephews,18 relatives, and friends who will forever cherish his memory; and19 WHEREAS, Mr. Harrison's life reflected the values of faith, family, and perseverance, and20 his presence brought strength and comfort to those who knew and loved him; and21 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding life of this remarkable22 individual be appropriately honored.23 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that24 the members of this body honor the life and memory of Mr. Tommy Harrison and extend25 their deepest and most sincere sympathies to his loved ones.26 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized27 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the28 family of Mr. Tommy Harrison.29 H.
