SR1056: SR1056 Pacifico, Deputy Anthony; recognize and commend

26 LC 112 4079 Senate Resolution 1056 By: Senators Dickerson of the 21st, Albers of the 56th and Kirkpatrick of the 32nd A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Deputy Anthony Pacifico for his cour ageous and valiant1 service in the line of duty; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, Deputy Anthony Pacifico has faithfully served the citizens of Cherokee County3 as a dedicated member of the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office since November 2018; and4 WHEREAS, he further distinguished himself by graduating from the North Central Georgia5 Law Enforcement Academy in 2020 and serving four years as a pat rol deputy in the Oak6 Grove Precinct, during which time he responded to approximately 9,000 calls for service and7 served as the investigating officer on approximately 1,200 cases and incidents; and8 WHEREAS, in 2024, he was selected to serve in the Special Operations Division as a K-99 handler, continuing his exemplary service to the citizens of Cherokee County; and10 WHEREAS, on the evening of October 25, 2025, Deputy Pacifico re sponded alongside11 fellow deputies to a welfare check involving a potentially enda ngered individual,12 demonstrating his readiness to serve and protect; and13 S. R. 1056 - 1 - 26 LC 112 4079 WHEREAS, during the course of that response, a violent suspect armed with a knife14 launched a life-threatening attack against Deputy Nicolas Glass , placing the deputy in15 immediate and grave danger; and16 WHEREAS, upon hearing his fellow deputy's call for help, Deputy Pacifico acted swiftly and17 decisively, confronting the armed assailant and using his training and judgment to stop the18 attack and protect the life of his partner; and19 WHEREAS, Deputy Pacifico's actions, taken in a matter of second s under extreme and20 dangerous circumstances, exemplify the highest standards of courage, professionalism, and21 devotion to duty; and22 WHEREAS, through his bravery and selfless willingness to place himself in harm's way,23 Deputy Pacifico helped bring a dangerous situation under control, protecting both his fellow24 officer and the community; and25 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding courage, dedication, and26 service of Deputy Anthony Pacifico be appropriately honored.27 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body28 recognize and commend Deputy Anthony Pacifico for his courageous and valiant actions and29 extend their deepest appreciation for his service to the citizens of Cherokee County and the30 State of Georgia.31 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed32 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Deputy Anthony33 Pacifico.34 S.
