A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending James Edward Ruff on his outstanding public service; and for1
other purposes.2
WHEREAS, James Edward Ruff has long been recognized by the citi zens of this state for3
his deep personal commitment to the welfare of the citizens of Georgia; and4
WHEREAS, James, of Atlanta, Georgia, is a freshman at Georgia G winnett College,5
majoring in Political Science with a concentration in Legal Studies and 6
WHEREAS, he is an active member and volunteer with the ACLU and is committed to civic7
engagement and public service; and8
WHEREAS, as a member of the inaugural cohort of the Georgia Gwinnett College Internship9
Program at the Georgia State Capitol, James served under State Representative Doreen10
Carter, where he gained firsthand experience in legislative operations; and 11
WHEREAS, during his internship, he observed policymaking, attended events, and engaged12
with a diverse network of peers and mentors; and 13

WHEREAS, James developed key professional skills, including research, document analysis,14
time management, leadership, and effective communication, while assisting with tasks such15
as data organization and policy review; and16
WHEREAS, James aspires to become a representative for Georgia’s 56th District and to17
build a career grounded in effective policymaking and community advocacy; and18
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this19
remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.20
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that21
the members of this body recognize and commend James Edward Ruf f for his efficient,22
effective, unselfish, and dedicated public service to the State of Georgia and extend the most23
sincere best wishes for continued health and happiness.24
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized25
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to James26
Edward Ruff.27
