Hyland upon her retirement from Children's1 Healthcare of Atlanta; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, Donna W. Hyland has served with honor as a distinguished leader at Children's3 Healthcare of Atlanta for four decades; and 4 WHEREAS, during her transformational tenure, Donna W. Hyland se rved in a number of5 key roles, including her 18 years as Chief Executive Officer of one of the most prestigious6 pediatric healthcare systems in the country and also as a leadi ng voice in our state for the7 health of kids; and8 WHEREAS, she was a driving force behind some of the most defini ng milestones in the9 organization's history, tirelessly championing efforts to meet the rapidly growing needs of10 Georgia's children and ensuring a lasting legacy of nationally renowned care for future11 generations of Georgians; and12 WHEREAS, she is a discerning and dedicated guardian of pediatric health who strives for13 excellence in all of her endeavors and whose primary motivation is to make all the children14 of Georgia better today and healthier tomorrow; and15 H. R. 1979 - 1 - 26 LC 129 1491 WHEREAS, this passionate leader exhibited extraordinary devotion to duty, tireless passion,16 astute leadership, and meticulous attention to detail in all of her duties despite many17 challenges, including a multi-year international pandemic; and 18 WHEREAS, Donna W. Hyland's unwavering commitment to doing the best for children has19 inspired others and been recognized by her peers through many decorations, honors, awards20 and appointments, including her induction as a Georgia Trustee; and 21 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that gratitude is expressed for the unparalleled22 and transformative contributions of Children's Healthcare of Atlanta on behalf of the citizens23 of this state. 24 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that25 the members of this body recognize and commend Donna W. Hyland upon the grand26 occasion of her retirement for her ardent, effective, and dedicated service to the children of27 Georgia as well as express their utmost appreciation for having so purely and truly defined28 for others the meaning of being a dedicated advocate for the st ate's youngest and most29 vulnerable.30 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized31 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution ava ilable for distribution to32 Donna W.
