26 LC 112 4059 House Resolution 1960 By: Representatives Reese of the 140th, Hugley of the 141st, Buckner of the 137th, Smith of the 138th, and Rice of the 139th A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Bruce Huff on his outstanding public service; and for other1 purposes.2 WHEREAS, Bruce Huff has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for the vital3 role that he has played in leadership and his deep personal commitment to the welfare of the4 citizens of Georgia; and5 WHEREAS, he has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of his time,6 talents, and energy toward the betterment of his community and state, as evidenced7 dramatically by his 15 years of superlative service as part of the Columbus City Council; and8 WHEREAS, a lifelong resident of Columbus, Georgia, Bruce Huff has represented District9 3 with distinction, helping to secure more than $300 million in infrastructure investments10 during his exemplary tenure; and11 WHEREAS, he further serves his community as a lifelong member o f St. James African12 Methodist Episcopal Church, a Prince Hall Mason (Electric City Lodge No. 322), and a13 member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc., among many other civic roles; and14 H. R. 1960 - 1 - 26 LC 112 4059 WHEREAS, Bruce Huff's significant organizational and leadership talents, remarkable15 patience and diplomacy, keen sense of vision, and sensitivity to the needs of the citizens of16 this state have earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues and associates; and17 WHEREAS, he is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for18 integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; and19 WHEREAS, Bruce Huff has honorably served the City of Columbus, and his vision and20 unyielding commitment to the welfare of his fellow citizens will be sorely missed upon the21 occasion of his retirement; and22 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this23 remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately honored.24 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that25 the members of this body recognize and commend Bruce Huff for h is efficient, effective,26 unselfish, and dedicated public service to the State of Georgia ; congratulate him upon the27 grand occasion of his retirement; and extend the most sincere b est wishes for continued28 health and happiness.29 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized30 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Bruce31 Huff.32 H.
