26 LC 112 4121 Senate Resolution 1061 By: Senators McNeel of the 18th, Tillery of the 19th, Strickland of the 42nd and Still of the 48th A RESOLUTION Congratulating the Stratford Academy Eagles for winning the 202 5 GIAA Class 4A State1 Football Championship; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, the Stratford Academy Eagles have established and maintained a proud tradition3 of excellence with equal emphases on character and academics; and4 WHEREAS, these superlative athletes have completed another triumphant season of football5 competition, culminating in a championship performance; and6 WHEREAS, the Eagles brought special recognition to their school by winning the 20257 GIAA Class 4A State Football Championship against the Brookstone School Cougars with8 a final score of 14 to 7; and9 WHEREAS, this victory secured the program's ninth state title a nd its first state10 championship since 2004; and11 WHEREAS, the phenomenal performance of the Eagles is a clear in dication of the12 outstanding athletic ability, dedication, hard work, and unity of purpose and spirit of each13 S. R. 1061 - 1 - 26 LC 112 4121 member; their superb offensive and defensive talents; and the astute direction of Head Coach14 Paul Carroll; and15 WHEREAS, as these athletes earned their well-deserved reputatio n for excellence by16 performing with courage and precision over months of training a nd competition, it is17 abundantly proper to call them champions.18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body19 congratulate the Stratford Academy Eagles for winning the 2025 GIAA Class 4A State20 Football Championship and extend best wishes for their continued success.21 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed22 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for di stribution to the Stratford23 Academy Eagles.24 S.
