26 LC 112 4074 House Resolution 1975 By: Representatives Momtahan of the 17th, Gullett of the 19th, Kelley of the 16th, Smith of the 18th, and New of the 40th A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending the North Paulding High School Girls Basketball Team for1 winning the 2026 Georgia High School Association Class 6A State Championship and for2 their outstanding athletic achievements; and for other purposes.3 WHEREAS, the North Paulding High School Girls Basketball Team d emonstrated4 exceptional skill, determination, and teamwork throughout the 2 025-2026 season,5 establishing itself as one of the premier girls basketball programs in the State of Georgia; and6 WHEREAS, on March 14, 2026, the Wolfpack won the Georgia High School Association7 Class 6A State Championship with a 64-58 victory over Grayson High School at the Macon8 Coliseum; and9 WHEREAS, the championship marked the first basketball state cha mpionship in school10 history, whether boys or girls, for North Paulding High School; and11 WHEREAS, the Wolfpack completed a remarkable season with a 30-2 overall record and12 held the No. 1 ranking throughout the season, reflecting the co nsistency, excellence, and13 championship caliber of the program; and14 H. R. 1975 - 1 - 26 LC 112 4074 WHEREAS, North Paulding displayed resilience and composure on the sport's biggest stage15 with a clutch and decisive 17-4 run that helped secure the state title; and16 WHEREAS, the championship victory carried special significance as the North Paulding17 Lady Wolfpack demonstrated perseverance, growth, determination, 1 percent leadership, and18 Blue-collar work ethic; and19 WHEREAS, the Wolfpack was led by Head Coach Wesley Willis and supported by Assistant20 Coaches Kelly Nye-Hinkson, Cres Summers, Alicia Smith, Monette Thomas, Melissa21 McCorvey, Clark Brown, and Tanya Willis; Managers Ariel Coward, Aaliyah Willis, and22 Aiyanna Qawiyy; Athletic Trainers Hannah Bolin and Jessica Brun er; Principal Gabe23 Carmona; Athletic Director Dr. Ryan Dyer; and Assistant Athletic Director Dennis Jordan,24 all of whom played an important role in the success of this championship program; and25 WHEREAS, the members of the 2026 North Paulding High School Girls Basketball Team26 are Kenzie Hinkson, Kalee Hinkson, Kloi Franklin, Olivia Walton , Kierra Clark, Macy27 Harmon, Morgan Landrum, Ari Moore, Tayla Arnold, Brooklyn Arnold, Ava Dyer, Kelsey28 Kuykendall, Amiyah Leacock, and Amirah Howell—these student-ath letes have29 distinguished themselves through discipline, sacrifice, and exc ellence in bringing home a30 historic state title; and31 WHEREAS, the accomplishments of the North Paulding High School Girls Basketball Team32 have brought tremendous pride to North Paulding High School, the Paulding County School33 District, and the entire Paulding County community, while inspiring future student-athletes34 across this state.35 H. R. 1975 - 2 - 26 LC 112 4074 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that36 the members of this body commend and congratulate the North Paulding High School Girls37 Basketball Team for winning the 2026 Georgia High School Associ ation Class 6A State38 Championship and extend their best wishes for continued success in all future endeavors.39 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized40 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the41 North Paulding High School Girls Basketball Team.42 H.
