A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending Nury Castillo Crawford; and for other purposes.1
WHEREAS, Nury Castillo Crawford is a first-generation immigrant , lifelong educator,2
author, and CEO & Founder of THE little BOOK SPOT; and3
WHEREAS, through her nonprofit, THE little BOOK SPOT, she tirel essly advocates for4
equitable literacy access, ensuring every child has the tools to succeed; and5
WHEREAS, her current work as an educational consultant focuses on the Science of6
Reading, implementing research-driven literacy strategies across the nation; and7
WHEREAS, as a published author, Nury Castillo Crawford uses bil ingual literature to8
celebrate individual strengths and the beauty of diverse cultures; and9
WHEREAS, during her tenure with Gwinnett County Public Schools, she proudly created10
and launched the Hispanic Mentoring Program; and11
WHEREAS, this initiative gained national recognition, highlighting the State of Georgia's12
commitment to inclusive student support; and13

WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this dedicated and remarkable Georgian14
be appropriately recognized.15
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that16
the members of this body recognize and commend Nury Castillo Cr awford for her17
unwavering commitment to student success and literacy education in the State of Georgia.18
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized19
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Nury20
Castillo Crawford.21
