26 LC 129 1528 Senate Resolution 1070 By: Senators Tillery of the 19th, Robertson of the 29th, Hatchett of the 50th, Anavitarte of the 31st, Watson of the 1st and others A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Mrs. Angela W. Touhy; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, Mrs. Angela W. Touhy has earned the admiration and respect of colleagues and2 citizens alike through her years of faithful service and her un wavering commitment to3 excellence within the state capitol; and4 WHEREAS, her distinguished career with the State of Georgia began in 1986 with the State5 Personnel Administration and continued with over a decade of service at the Department of6 Human Resources, where she developed a foundation in public service and administration;7 and 8 WHEREAS, she brought her talents to the Georgia State Senate in 2000, serving Chairmen9 George Hooks and Jack Hill in the Senate Appropriations Committee; and10 WHEREAS, throughout her outstanding career with the State of Ge orgia, she has11 demonstrated exceptional professionalism, institutional knowledge, and a tireless dedication12 to supporting the work of the Georgia General Assembly; and13 S. R. 1070 - 1 - 26 LC 129 1528 WHEREAS, following her well-deserved retirement, Mrs. Touhy once again answered the14 call to serve in 2022, bringing her experience and steady leadership back to assist Chairman15 Blake Tillery and the Senate Appropriations Committee; and16 WHEREAS, known for her remarkable work ethic, she begins each d ay early and17 consistently goes above and beyond what is required, ensuring that the work of the Senate18 is carried out efficiently and effectively; and19 WHEREAS, her positive attitude and calm presence, even in the m ost demanding20 circumstances, have made her a source of encouragement and strength to all who have the21 pleasure of working with her; and22 WHEREAS, Mrs. Touhy is incredibl y beloved within the Capitol co mmunity, where her23 kindness and care for others have left a lasting impression on countless colleagues and24 friends; and25 WHEREAS, outside of her professional life, she enjoys traveling with her husband, Bobby,26 and spending time at their home in Twin Lakes, Colorado; and27 WHEREAS it is fitting and proper to recognize and celebrate the continued service and28 enduring impact of such an exceptional individual.29 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body30 commend Mrs. Angela W. Touhy for her exemplary service and exte nd their sincere31 appreciation for her many contributions to the Georgia State Senate and the State of Georgia.32 S.
