Tillman; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, it is with great respect and appreciation that we hono r Samuel L. Tillman of2 Decatur, Georgia, for his outstanding dedication to public service, military service, family,3 and community; and4 WHEREAS, Samuel L. Tillman is a decorated veteran who proudly served his country in the5 United States Air Force during the 1960s, including service dur ing the Vietnam War,6 demonstrating courage, discipline, and a steadfast commitment to the defense of our nation;7 and8 WHEREAS, Samuel L. Tillman has faithfully served the citizens o f Georgia through his9 distinguished work as Chief of Staff to State Senator Emanuel J ones for over 22 years,10 exemplifying leadership, wisdom, and commitment to the legislative process; and11 WHEREAS, his long and impactful career in state government also includes dedicated12 service with the DeKalb County Board of Elections as well as hi s work alongside Deputy13 Insurance Commissioner Tim Riles, where he contributed his knowledge, professionalism,14 and tireless work ethic to the betterment of public service; and15 S. R. 1068 - 1 - 26 LC 112 4147 WHEREAS, throughout his tenure, he has been known for his integrity, professionalism, and16 steadfast loyalty, earning the trust and admiration of colleagu es, constituents, and all who17 have had the privilege of working alongside him; and18 WHEREAS, his contributions extend beyond policy and governance, as he has played a vital19 role in strengthening relationships within the community and ensuring that the voices of the20 people are heard and respected; and21 WHEREAS, beyond his professional accomplishments, Samuel L. Tillman is a devoted and22 loving husband, a proud and caring father, and a cherished grandfather whose greatest joy23 comes from the love and unity of his family; and24 WHEREAS, Samuel L. Tillman's life stands as a testament to the values of service,25 dedication, and love, encouraging all who know him to strive fo r excellence and to serve26 others with humility and grace.27 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body28 recognize and commend Samuel L. Tillman for his invaluable contributions to the State of29 Georgia and his profound impact on his family, community, and country.30 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed31 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for di stribution to Samuel L.32 Tillman.33 S.
