26 LC 112 4051 House Resolution 1995 By: Representatives Cheokas of the 151st, Washburn of the 144th, Crowe of the 118th, Camp of the 135th, Donatucci of the 105th, and others A RESOLUTION Honoring the life and memory of Kristen Morgan Whaley; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, Kristen Morgan Whaley was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, and2 friend whose life was marked by unwavering faith, genuine kindn ess, and a steadfast3 commitment to serving others; and4 WHEREAS, born on December 16, 1987, in Columbus, Georgia, Morga n lived a life of5 purpose and impact, touching countless lives until her passing on March 1, 2026; and6 WHEREAS, throughout her illness, she demonstrated extraordinary strength and grace,7 keeping her faith in the Lord at the center of her life and serving as an enduring example of8 courage, resilience, and positivity; and9 WHEREAS, a graduate of Sequoyah High School, Morgan continued h er academic and10 athletic career at Reinhardt University, where she earned a deg ree in education and built11 lifelong friendships that would remain a treasured part of her life; and12 WHEREAS, athletics was an extension of her love for people and her constant support of13 everyone she encountered on the field, in the classroom, and throughout her life; and14 H. R. 1995 - 1 - 26 LC 112 4051 WHEREAS, Morgan was known for her contagious smile and her remarkable ability to make15 every person feel valued, loved, and uplifted, leaving a lasting impression on all who had the16 privilege of knowing her; and17 WHEREAS, above all, Morgan was devoted to her faith and her fam ily, cherishing her18 salvation through Jesus Christ; building a life centered on lov e with her husband, Jimmy19 Whaley; and serving as a dedicated mother to her sons, JW and F inley, to whom she gave20 her very best each and every day; and21 WHEREAS, the State of Georgia has lost a truly remarkable citizen whose life exemplified22 faith, compassion, service, and love, and it is only fitting that her memory be honored.23 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that24 the members of this body honor the life and legacy of Kristen Morgan Whaley and extend25 their deepest and most sincere condolences to her family and loved ones.26 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized27 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the28 family of Kristen Morgan Whaley.29 H.
