26 LC 112 4082 Senate Resolution 1063 By: Senators Anavitarte of the 31st, Walker III of the 20th, Robertson of the 29th, Bearden of the 30th, Dolezal of the 27th and others A RESOLUTION Honoring the life and memory of Larry Wayne Haney; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, the State of Georgia mourns the loss of one of its most distinguished citizens2 with the passing of Larry Wayne Haney on March 22, 2026; and3 WHEREAS, Larry Wayne Haney was born on Aragon, Georgia, on July 1, 1952, a beloved4 son of Henry Haney and Lois Akins Haney; and5 WHEREAS, he was a lifelong resident of Rockmart, where he enjoyed a successful business6 career as owner and operator of Haney Farm & Ranch Supply, Hane y Powersports, and7 Sidekicks Restaurant; and8 WHEREAS, he was a true cowboy who enjoyed all facets of rodeo life as well as a devoted9 family man who greatly cherished the time he spent with his family; and10 WHEREAS, he was united in love and marriage to his wife, Elaine , and was blessed with11 two remarkable daughters, Shea and Alison; five wonderful grandchildren, Avery, Ty, Noah,12 Kayson, and Knox; and two outstanding great-grandchildren, Livi and Margo; and13 S. R. 1063 - 1 - 26 LC 112 4082 WHEREAS, Larry Wayne Haney gave inspiration to many through his high ideals, morals,14 and deep concern for his fellow citizens, and the devotion, patience, and understanding he15 demonstrated to his family and friends were admired by others; and16 WHEREAS, he was a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation17 for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness, and by the example he made of his life, he18 made this world a better place in which to live; and19 WHEREAS, a compassionate and generous man, Larry Wayne Haney wi ll long be20 remembered for his love of family, friendship, and community and will be missed by all who21 had the great fortune of knowing him.22 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body23 join in honoring the life and memory of Larry Wayne Haney and express their deepest and24 most sincere regret at his passing.25 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed26 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the family of Larry27 Wayne Haney.28 S.
