A RESOLUTION
Commending the Morehouse College Honors Program for its outstan ding academic1
excellence, leadership development, and service to the communit y and recognizing its2
participation in the Georgia Legislative Black Caucus' first Heritage Day of Service during3
Heritage Weekend; and for other purposes.4
WHEREAS, the Morehouse College Honors Program is a distinguishe d four-year5
comprehensive program dedicated to providing enriched academic and leadership6
opportunities for students of exceptional intellectual ability, strong motivation, and diverse7
interests; and8
WHEREAS, the program has consistently cultivated an environment that promotes scholarly9
excellence, critical thinking, and a lifelong commitment to learning, equipping its students10
to become impactful leaders in their communities and beyond; and11
WHEREAS, through a structured emphasis on leadership and social outreach, the Morehouse12
College Honors Program integrates service into both its academi c curriculum and13
co-curricular activities from freshman year through graduation, fostering a deep sense of14
civic responsibility among its scholars; and15

WHEREAS, the program has demonstrated a strong commitment to global engagement by16
advancing the internationalization mission of Morehouse College, introducing students early17
in their academic careers to global studies, international dial ogue, and study-abroad18
opportunities that broaden perspectives and enhance academic pursuits; and19
WHEREAS, guided by its mission to empower students through a stimulating and supportive20
learning environment, the Morehouse College Honors Program enab les its scholars to21
achieve their highest potential while excelling in academics, leadership, service, and global22
awareness; and23
WHEREAS, the students and leadership of the Morehouse College H onors Program24
exemplified these values through their meaningful participation in the Georgia Legislative25
Black Caucus' inaugural Heritage Day of Service during Heritage Weekend, contributing26
their time, talent, and commitment to uplifting communities across the State of Georgia; and27
WHEREAS, their service stands as a testament to the enduring le gacy of leadership,28
excellence, and social responsibility that Morehouse College instills in its students, reflecting29
great credit upon the institution and the State of Georgia.30
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that31
the members of this body commend the Morehouse College Honors P rogram for its32
outstanding contributions to academic excellence, leadership development, and community33
service and recognize its impactful participation in the Georgi a Legislative Black Caucus'34
first Heritage Day of Service during Heritage Weekend.35

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized36
