26 LC 112 4208 House Resolution 2078 By: Representatives Tran of the 80th, Roberts of the 52nd, Panitch of the 51st, Drenner of the 85th, and Holcomb of the 101st A RESOLUTION Honoring the life and memory of John Baptist Barranco of Dunwoo dy, Georgia; and for1 other purposes.2 WHEREAS, John Baptist Barranco was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, veteran, and3 community leader who passed away on February 12, 2026, at the age of 92, leaving behind4 a legacy of service, faith, and generosity; and5 WHEREAS, born in Chicago, Illinois, on July 13, 1933, to immigrant parents, Mr. Barranco6 lived a life defined by hard work, integrity, and dedication, s erving his country as a First7 Lieutenant in the United States Army and building a distinguished 41-year career as a sales8 executive; and9 WHEREAS, after relocating to Georgia, Mr. Barranco became a fou nding and active10 member of All Saints Catholic Church in Dunwoody, where he fait hfully served for more11 than four decades, including leadership roles such as Pastoral Board President and active12 participation in numerous ministries; and13 H. R. 2078 - 1 - 26 LC 112 4208 WHEREAS, Mr. Barranco was a dedicated member of the Knights of Columbus Council14 #11402, contributing countless hour s of volunteer service and l eadership to support15 charitable initiatives and strengthen the parish community; and16 WHEREAS, among his many contributions, Mr. Barranco demonstrate d extraordinary17 dedication to the All Saints Fish Fry, a beloved annual Lenten tradition that brings together18 families and community members while raising funds for charitab le causes, serving19 thousands of meals each season and embodying the spirit of fellowship and service; and20 WHEREAS, in recognition of his years of tireless service and leadership, the All Saints Fish21 Fry kitchen was dedicated in honor of John Barranco, a lasting tribute to his commitment to22 faith, community, and volunteerism; and23 WHEREAS, Mr. Barranco will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to his family,24 his deep faith, and the countless lives he touched through his generosity, mentorship, and25 service to others; and26 WHEREAS, his legacy continues to inspire the Dunwoody community and all who had the27 privilege of knowing him.28 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that29 the members of this body honor the life and memory of John Baptist Barranco and recognize30 his outstanding contributions to his church, his community, and the State of Georgia.31 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized32 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the33 family of John Baptist Barranco.34 H.
