26 LC 112 4187 House Resolution 2058 By: Representatives Tarvin of the 2nd and Horner of the 3rd A RESOLUTION Congratulating the Heritage High School girls basketball team; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, the Heritage High School girls basketball team from Ringgold, Georgia, are the2 2026 Region 7AAA Champions and 2026 State Champions with a 28–4 overall record; and3 WHEREAS, Tori Epps was named State Semifinals and Finals MVP; and4 WHEREAS, Paisley Collins was selected as GACA All-State; and5 WHEREAS, Bailee Hollis and Ema Tanner graduate high school with three Softball State6 Championships and one Basketball State Championship; and7 WHEREAS, Georgia Gracy made the most iconic shot in county history to send the Heritage8 girls into overtime for the championship win; and9 WHEREAS, Greg Elkins was named Region 7AAA Coach of the Year and GACA/GBCA10 State Coach of the Year for AAA; and11 H. R. 2058 - 1 - 26 LC 112 4187 WHEREAS, Heritage became the firs t team in Catoosa County histo ry to win a State12 Championship in basketball; and13 WHEREAS, as this magnificent team earned its well-deserved reputation for excellence by14 performing with courage and precision over months of training a nd competition, it is15 abundantly proper to call them champions.16 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that17 the members of this body congratulate the Heritage High School girls basketball team upon18 becoming the 2026 Region 7AAA Champions and 2026 State Champions and extend best19 wishes for their continued success.20 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized21 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the22 Heritage High School girls basketball team.23 H.
