26 LC 112 4181 Senate Resolution 1083 By: Senator Howard of the 35th A RESOLUTION Commending Zachary Humphries; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, Zachary Humphries of Dunwoody, Georgia, has demonstrat e d a s t r o n g2 commitment to his community through service, civic engagement, and public involvement;3 and4 WHEREAS, he currently serves as a legislative aide to Senator J aha Howard, supporting5 citizens of the 35th Senate District through constituent servic es, coordination with local6 councils and community organizations, and the organization of l egislative town halls that7 bring together elected officials, community leaders, and residents; and8 WHEREAS, his dedication to civic engagement is further evidenced by his service as a local9 historian and History Committee board member with the Dunwoody Preservation Trust,10 where he preserves community history through educational tours, record digitization, and11 public outreach; and12 WHEREAS, he additionally serves DeKalb County as precinct manager of the Austin polling13 precinct and volunteers at Dunwoody's Lemonade Days festival; and14 S. R. 1083 - 1 - 26 LC 112 4181 WHEREAS, his commitment to service extends to his faith communi ty at Park Avenue15 Baptist Church, where he serves as a food and housing coordinat or, assisting with food16 distribution across the Greater Atlanta area, supporting effort s to provide shelter and17 resources for those in need, and maintaining the church's community garden and library; and18 WHEREAS, it is abunda ntly fitting and proper that this exemplar y individual be19 appropriately honored during this special time.20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body21 commend Zachary Humphries for his dedication to public service, civic engagement, and22 community leadership as well as extend the most sincere best wishes for continued success.23 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed24 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for di stribution to Zachary25 Humphries.26 S.
