26 LC 112 4192 House Resolution 2037 By: Representatives Reese of the 140th, Hugley of the 141st, and Buckner of the 137th A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Dee Armstrong upon her induction int o the Georgia1 Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, with an exemplary career spanning more than four decades of service as a news3 anchor in Columbus, Georgia, Dee Armstrong was recently inducte d into the Georgia4 Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame; and5 WHEREAS, the Georgia Association of Broadcasters is composed of more than 4006 individuals who contribute to the general well-being of our state by informing the public and7 fostering insightful dialogue regarding the day's most pressing issues; and8 WHEREAS, the Georgia Association of Broadcasters, the nation's first and oldest broadcast9 association, works diligently to represent the interests of local Georgia radio and television10 licensees; and11 WHEREAS, these local radio and television broadcasters play a vital role in times of great12 struggle, including natural disasters and severe weather events, providing critical information13 and guidance to keep communities safe; and14 H. R. 2037 - 1 - 26 LC 112 4192 WHEREAS, through their roles as respected and trusted broadcast ers, members of the15 Georgia Association of Broadcasters positively impact our state and local communities; and16 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this exceptio nal individual be17 appropriately honored during this special time.18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that19 the members of this body recognize and commend Dee Armstrong upon the grand occasion20 of her induction into the Georgia Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame and extend best21 wishes for future health and happiness.22 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized23 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Dee24 Armstrong.25 H.
