26 LC 129 1523 House Resolution 2060 By: Representative Beckles of the 96th A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Sierra Haynes on her outstanding public service; and for other1 purposes.2 WHEREAS, Sierra Haynes has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for her deep3 personal commitment to the welfare of the citizens of Georgia; and4 WHEREAS, Sierra, of Decatur, Georgia, is a sophomore at Georgia Gwinnett College,5 majoring in Political Science with a Pre-Law focus; and 6 WHEREAS, as a member of the inaugural cohort of the Georgia Gwinnett College Internship7 Program at the Georgia State Capitol, Sierra assisted with tracking House and Senate bills8 and resolutions, drafting speeches both in support of and in op position to legislation, and9 completing administrative tasks such as developing constituent data resources for her10 Representative’s office; and11 WHEREAS, through these efforts, she gained valuable insight int o the legislative process12 and policy development; and 13 H. R. 2060 - 1 - 26 LC 129 1523 WHEREAS, Sierra aspires to become a diplomat as well as a civil rights attorney and14 activist; and15 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this16 remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.17 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that18 the members of this body recognize and commend Sierra Haynes for her efficient, effective,19 unselfish, and dedicated public service to the State of Georgia and extend the most sincere20 best wishes for continued health and happiness.21 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized22 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Sierra23 Haynes. 24 H.
