26 LC 112 4183 House Resolution 2036 By: Representative Drenner of the 85th A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Dr. Miranda Brand; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, Dr. Miranda Brand serves with distinction as the Dean and Vice President of2 the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences and School of Aviation at Purdue University3 Global, where she provides visionary leadership over more than 700 faculty members across4 45 academic programs and five academic departments; and5 WHEREAS, under her leadership, the college serves nearly 11,000 students pursuing6 doctoral, master's, bachelor's, associate's, and certificate programs, with a steadfast focus on7 student success, innovation, and workforce readiness; and8 WHEREAS, Dr. Brand has demonstrated exceptional expertise in leadership development,9 faculty mentoring, and the cultivation of more than 1,000 indus try partnerships,10 strengthening the connection between higher education and real-world opportunity; and11 WHEREAS, since joining the university in 2006, she has served in numerous roles including12 faculty member, department chair, and associate dean, and she has played a central role in13 the development and launch of 12 academic degree programs, adva ncing access to14 high-quality education; and15 H. R. 2036 - 1 - 26 LC 112 4183 WHEREAS, her professional career reflects more than 20 years of dedicated service in16 public education, including roles as a teacher, curriculum coor dinator, staff development17 presenter, and school administrator, demonstrating a lifelong c ommitment to learning and18 leadership; and19 WHEREAS, Dr. Brand has been recognized for excellence through n umerous honors,20 including being a four-time recipient of the Purdue Global Distinction Award and receiving21 the Georgia Governor's Office of Student Achievement Gold Award for Highest Student22 Achievement for three consecutive years; and23 WHEREAS, she holds a Doctor of Education in Educational Leaders hip from Nova24 Southeastern University, a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from Fayetteville State25 University, and a Bachelor of Science in Education from Methodist University; and26 WHEREAS, through her leadership, service, and dedication, Dr. Brand has made a lasting27 impact on students, faculty, and the broader educational community.28 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that29 the members of this body recognize and commend Dr. Miranda Bran d for her exemplary30 leadership and contributions to higher education and extend bes t wishes for her continued31 success.32 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized33 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Dr.34 Miranda Brand.35 H.
