26 LC 112 4202 Senate Resolution 1094 By: Senator Rahman of the 5th A RESOLUTION Commending the Atlanta Fire Cricket Club as the proud home team of Atlanta, Georgia, and1 recognizing its 2025 Minor League Cricket National Championship; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, Atlanta businessman Mohammed Hasan Tarek established t he Atlanta Fire3 Cricket Club in 2018—as a former president of the Bangladesh Sports Federation of Georgia,4 he played a vital role in the growth and development of cricket in the Atlanta community,5 transforming his vision into one of the premier professional cr icket organizations in the6 United States; and7 WHEREAS, the Atlanta Fire Cricket Club's core mission is to ele vate the game of cricket8 in the United States while representing the City of Atlanta as a leading hub for the sport—the9 organization upholds the highest standards of excellence both on and off the field through10 visionary leadership, dedicated management, and a diverse roste r of international and11 domestic talent; and12 WHEREAS, the team's championship season builds upon a strong legacy of success, with13 prior tournament victories across the United States including t he 2025 Houston Open14 Tournament; 2021 LA Open; 2019 Desmond Lewis Tournament; 2019 2X Tournament; and15 S. R. 1094 - 1 - 26 LC 112 4202 2019 National Cricket League, demonstrating the team's sustaine d excellence and16 organizational strength; and17 WHEREAS, the organization continues to maintain a year-round cr icket calendar,18 participating in premier tournaments and events nationwide whil e fostering community19 engagement, youth development, and increased awareness of cricket throughout Georgia and20 beyond; and21 WHEREAS, the Atlanta Fire Cricket Club has played a significant role in expanding the22 presence of cricket in Georgia, contributing to the state's growing recognition as an emerging23 center for one of the world's most popular sports, enjoyed by billions globally.24 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body25 commend the Atlanta Fire Cricket Club as the proud home team of Atlanta, Georgia,26 recognize its achievement as the 2025 Minor League Cricket Nati onal Champions, and27 extend their best wishes for continued success in elevating the sport of cricket across the state28 and nation.29 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed30 to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for dis tribution to the Atlanta Fire31 Cricket Club, the public, and the press.32 S.
