A RESOLUTION
Honoring "The Atlantan," a signature cocktail inspired by Atlan ta, and recognizing the1
contributions of Keyatta Mincey Parker, Tiffanie Barriere, Thandi Walton, A Sip of Paradise2
Garden, and Rémy Martin; and for other purposes.3
WHEREAS, the State of Georgia takes pride in celebrating the rich cultural, culinary, and4
entrepreneurial achievements of its residents; and5
WHEREAS, Atlanta, Georgia, a vibrant city known for its Southern roots, innovation, and6
dynamic cultural energy, has inspired the creation of "The Atlantan," a signature cocktail that7
reflects the city's culinary creativity and community spirit; and8
WHEREAS, this cocktail was masterfully crafted by renowned mixo logists and beverage9
experts Keyatta Mincey Parker, Tiffanie Barriere, and Thandi Wa lton, whose talent,10
dedication, and creativity have brought recognition to Atlanta' s hospitality and culinary11
community; and12
WHEREAS, Keyatta Mincey Parker is the founder and executive dir ector of A Sip of13
Paradise Garden, a nonprofit or ganization prov iding wellness, c areer development, and14

community support to hospitality professionals, helping combat industry burnout and15
promoting sustainable practices; and16
WHEREAS, Tiffanie Barriere, an award-winning bartender, educato r, and historian, has17
advanced the craft of mixology while advocating for equity, inclusivity, and mentorship in18
the beverage industry; and19
WHEREAS, Thandi Walton, a Smithsonian award-winning mixologist and Head of20
Beverage at Thompson Atlanta Buckhead, is celebrated for her innovative garden-to-glass21
cocktail designs that reflect both her Zimbabwean heritage and Atlanta's vibrant culinary22
culture; and23
WHEREAS, "The Atlantan" incorporates Rémy Martin as its base sp irit, a choice that24
resonates culturally and philosophically with Atlanta's identity, reflecting the city's history,25
reinvention, and aspiration while also providing a sensory richness and symbolic depth that26
honors Atlanta's past, present, and future; and27
WHEREAS, the creation of this cocktail represents a collaborati on between hospitality28
leaders, beverage partners, and community organizations, highlighting Atlanta's leadership29
in culinary innovation, tourism, and cultural celebration; and30
WHEREAS, "The Atlantan" and its inspiration not only honor Atlanta's rich traditions and31
dynamic energy but also support community wellness and development through programs32
at A Sip of Paradise Garden, ensuring that the city's hospitality professionals have a space33
to heal, grow, and thrive.34

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that35
the members of this body honor "The Atlantan"; commend the extraordinary contributions36
of Keyatta Mincey Parker, Tiffanie Barriere, and Thandi Walton; recognize the positive37
impact of A Sip of Paradise Garden; and acknowledge the cultural and symbolic significance38
of Rémy Martin as the spirit that anchors this cocktail.39
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized40
and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution avai lable for distribution to the41
public and the press.42
