26 LC 112 4199 House Resolution 2082 By: Representative Scott of the 76th A RESOLUTION Honoring the life and legacy of Mrs. Thelma Crawford Scott; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, Mrs. Thelma Crawford Scott was born on August 28, 1928 , in Wilmot,2 Arkansas, to the late Theo Crawford and Bessie Holmes, and she lived a life defined by faith,3 love, and unwavering devotion to her family and community; and4 WHEREAS, at an early age, she accepted Christ and was baptized at Zion Hill Baptist5 Church in Camden, Arkansas, establishing a strong spiritual fou ndation that guided her6 throughout her life; and7 WHEREAS, Mrs. Scott was united in holy matrimony to her beloved husband, Elbert Scott,8 and together they built a strong and loving family, raising six children and instilling in them9 the values of faith, perseverance, and compassion; and10 WHEREAS, she was known for her warm and infectious smile, her w elcoming spirit, and11 her ability to make everyone she encountered feel loved and val ued, leaving a lasting12 impression on all who knew her; and13 H. R. 2082 - 1 - 26 LC 112 4199 WHEREAS, Mrs. Scott was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elbert Scott; her14 children, Marie Atkins, Elbert Scott Jr., and Jerry Scott; her grandchildren, Tim Mitchell and15 Maleek Scott; and her brothers, L.C. White and James White; and16 WHEREAS, she leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories through her devoted17 family, including her sons, Edward Scott (Sandra), John Scott, and Rickey Scott (Mickie);18 her daughter, Doris Mitchell; her sister, Doris White; her brother, Bobby White; as well as19 a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who will20 forever honor her life and legacy; and21 WHEREAS, Mrs. Thelma Crawford Scott transitioned peacefully to her eternal home on22 November 14, 2021, after a courageous life well lived, leaving behind a legacy of strength,23 grace, and unconditional love; and24 WHEREAS, her life stands as a testament to faith, family, and service, and her impact will25 continue to inspire generations to come.26 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that27 the members of this body honor and celebrate the life of Mrs. T helma Crawford Scott and28 extend their deepest sympathy to her family and loved ones.29 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized30 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the31 family of Mrs. Thelma Crawford Scott.32 H.
