26 LC 129 1521 House Resolution 2046 By: Representative Au of the 50th A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending the Johns Creek Symphony Orchestra; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, the Johns Creek Symphony Orchestra (JCSO) is a fully professional orchestra2 founded and incorporated on April 28, 2007, as a result of the vision of its founder, Music3 Director J. Wayne Baughman; and 4 WHEREAS, the Johns Creek Symphony Orchestra is the only fully professional orchestra5 serving North Fulton, Gwinnett, Forsyth, and surrounding communities; and6 WHEREAS, the Johns Creek Symphony Orchestra's mission is to enhance the quality of life7 for Johns Creek and North Metro Atlanta residents through the presentation of high-quality8 performances, education and outreach program that reflect the c ultural diversity of the9 community; and10 WHEREAS, the orchestra's musicians are among the finest instrumentalists in America, with11 an average of 16 years experience in professional orchestras, m ost of the members having12 graduate degrees or artist diplomas in performing arts from the leading institutions of higher13 learning in the United States, and many having received additio nal training in Berlin,14 London, Rome, Salzburg, Vienna and other leading European music centers; and15 H. R. 2046 - 1 - 26 LC 129 1521 WHEREAS, now under the direction of Music Director Henry Cheng, the Johns Creek16 Symphony Orchestra is entering an ambitious new chapter, blending world-class artistry with17 community-centered programming that inspires audiences of all ages; and18 WHEREAS, the Johns Creek Symphony Orchestra made history in 202 5 as it traveled to19 Vietnam for a landmark international tour, joining the New York Philharmonic and the20 Minnesota Orchestra as one of only a few American orchestras to perform in the country21 over the past 20 years.22 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that23 the members of this body recognize and commend the Johns Creek Symphony Orchestra and24 extend their sincere best wishes for its continued growth and success.25 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized26 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the27 Johns Creek Symphony Orchestra.28 H.
