26 LC 129 1543 House Resolution 2019 By: Representatives Berry of the 56th, Holly of the 116th, and Bell of the 75th A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Damarion King; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, Damarion King is a Junior at Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia, majoring2 in Political Science with double minors in Sociology and Communications; and3 WHEREAS, a proud first-generation college student from Raleigh, North Carolina,4 Damarion is committed to breaking new ground and creating gener ational footprints that5 uplift and empower his community; and6 WHEREAS, rooted in faith as a licensed minister, Damarion’s pas sion for service and7 leadership is guided by a deep commitment to care for others, especially those society often8 overlooks; and9 WHEREAS, as a college minister and intern at New Birth Missiona ry Baptist Church,10 serving under Dr. Jamal Harrison Bryant, Damarion continues to deepen his ministry,11 engaging his peers and the broader community in meaningful, faith-driven service; and12 H. R. 2019 - 1 - 26 LC 129 1543 WHEREAS, at Morehouse College, Damarion serves as the 40th Vice President of the13 Martin Luther King Jr. International Chapel Assistants program, reintroducing a new era of14 campus ministry; and15 WHEREAS, he broadened his commitment to public service as a Con gressional Black16 Caucus Foundation Intern in Washington, D.C., working with Congressman Don Davis on17 behalf of North Carolina’s First Congressional District as well as served as a legislative18 intern to Georgia State Representative El-Mahdi Holly of District 116; and 19 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this distingu ished gentleman be20 appropriately honored.21 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that22 the members of this body recognize and commend Damarion King and extend their sincere23 best wishes for his continued health, happiness, and success.24 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized25 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution ava ilable for distribution to26 Damarion King.27 H.
