26 LC 112 4201 House Resolution 2076 By: Representative Scott of the 76th A RESOLUTION Honoring the life and legacy of Ms. Laranette Kelley; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, Ms. Laranette Kelley was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and2 friend whose life was a testament to faith, service, and love; and3 WHEREAS, she was born on May 17, 1961, in Carrollton, Georgia, to the late Ernest and4 Lena Mae Kelley, and was called home to eternal rest on July 23, 2019; and5 WHEREAS, Ms. Kelley was educated in the Atlanta Public School System and graduated6 from East Atlanta High School in the Class of 1980, where she actively participated in school7 activities including flag court, chorus, and vocational training; and8 WHEREAS, she devoted her professional life to service, working in healthcare as a Licensed9 Practical Nurse after attending Atlanta Technical College and l ater contributing to10 organizations including Eckerd Drug Stores, Bank of America, and the Georgia Department11 of Agriculture, USDA Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Program, where she served the12 community with compassion and dedication; and13 H. R. 2076 - 1 - 26 LC 112 4201 WHEREAS, Ms. Kelley was a woman of strong faith who accepted Ch rist at an early age14 and remained committed to serving others through ministry, outr each, and community15 service, including feeding the homeless and supporting church a uxiliaries alongside her16 family; and17 WHEREAS, she was united in marriage to Andrew Amanto, and through this union, she was18 blessed with four loving children, Alvin Jr., Lawrenceville, Jasmine, and Joshua, who were19 the pride and joy of her life; and20 WHEREAS, she was a devoted family matriarch who cherished her s iblings, nieces,21 nephews, grandchildren, extended family, and countless friends, leaving behind a legacy of22 love, strength, and resilience that will continue to inspire generations to come; and23 WHEREAS, Ms. Kelley found joy in cooking, bringing people together, and creating lasting24 memories with her family and community, always giving selflessly of her time, talents, and25 heart; and26 WHEREAS, her life exemplified the scripture in Ecclesiastes 3:1, "To everything there is a27 season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven," and her memory will forever remain28 a source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew and loved her.29 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that30 the members of this body honor and celebrate the life of Ms. Laranette Kelley, recognizing31 her unwavering faith, her service to others, and the indelible mark she leaves upon her family32 and community.33 H. R. 2076 - 2 - 26 LC 112 4201 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized34 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the35 family of Ms. Laranette Kelley.36 H.
