26 LC 112 4122 House Resolution 2077 By: Representative Clark of the 108th A RESOLUTION Commending Dr. Willie Frank Rainey Jr.; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, over the course of his distinguished life, Dr. Willie Frank Rainey Jr. has2 demonstrated a sincere commitment to the pursuit of excellence through his academics,3 exemplary healthcare career, and numerous accomplishments; and4 WHEREAS, Dr. Willie Frank Rainey Jr. graduated from Tuskegee University in 1978 and5 the Medical College of Georgia in 1982, during which time he wa s also a distinguished6 member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Gamma Phi Chapter; and7 WHEREAS, he completed his residency with Emory University hospital systems in Atlanta,8 Georgia, in 1985, gaining the clinical training that would support a long and impactful career9 in medicine; and10 WHEREAS, Dr. Rainey served for 34 years as an internal medicine physician with the11 Southeast Permanente Medical Group of Kaiser and held the role of regional chief of adult12 medicine, contributing to both patient care and medical leadership; and13 H. R. 2077 - 1 - 26 LC 112 4122 WHEREAS, in addition to his professional accomplishments, he ha s traveled extensively14 throughout the United States and abroad, pursuing an appreciation for history, culture, and15 the natural beauty of the world; and16 WHEREAS, he is the devoted father of State Representative Dr. Jasmine Clark and Willie17 Frank Rainey III as well as the beloved grandfather of Jayda and Jacobe Clark; and18 WHEREAS, this distinguished gentleman has given inspiration to many through his high19 ideals, morals, and deep concern for his fellow citizens, and he possesses the vast wisdom20 which only comes through experience and the strength of charact er which is achieved21 through overcoming the many challenges of life; and22 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this23 remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately honored.24 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that25 the members of this body recognize and commend Dr. Willie Frank Rainey Jr. and extend26 the most sincere best wishes for continued health and happiness.27 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized28 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Dr.29 Willie Frank Rainey Jr.30 H.
