A RESOLUTION
Recognizing March 31, 2026, as Underserved Communities Day at the state capitol; and for1
other purposes.2
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper to recognize Community Estr(El/La) for their3
work and service in educating communities about the challenges and contributions of4
underserved Georgians; and 5
WHEREAS, Community Estr(El/La) is a community-based organizatio n underserved6
individuals who are dedicated to defending, organizing, and empowering the human rights7
of underserved Georgians, including racial minorities, victims of domestic violence, sexual8
minorities, indigenous peoples, immigrants, and others; and9
WHEREAS, Underserved Communities Day is a significant observanc e dedicated to10
recognizing the struggles and celebrating the achievements of underserved communities; and11
WHEREAS, these communities have faced historical and ongoing ch allenges, including12
violence, discrimination, and injustice; and13

WHEREAS, recognizing Underserved Communities Day serves as an opportunity to foster14
understanding, inclusivity, and acceptance within our state.15
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that16
the members of this body recognize March 31, 2026, as Underserved Communities Day at17
the state capitol.18
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized19
and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution avai lable for distribution to the20
public and the press.21
