26 LC 129 1522 House Resolution 2061 By: Representative Beckles of the 96th A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Zoreida Reyes-Garcia on her outstanding public service; and1 for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, Zoreida Reyes-Garcia has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for3 her deep personal commitment to the welfare of the citizens of Georgia; and4 WHEREAS, Zoreida, of Peachtree Corners, Georgia, is a sophomore at Georgia Gwinnett5 College, majoring in Criminal Justice; and 6 WHEREAS, as a member of the inaugural cohort of the Georgia Gwinnett College Internship7 Program at the Georgia State Capitol, she served as a Legislative Intern in the Georgia House8 of Representatives for the Office of Representative Arlene Beckles; and9 WHEREAS, in this role, Zoreida was actively involved in legislative research, drafting bill10 analyses, preparing speeches and constituent communications, an d supporting the office11 during committee meetings, gaining valuable hands-on experience in the legislative process;12 and 13 H. R. 2061 - 1 - 26 LC 129 1522 WHEREAS, notably, she contributed to work on House Bill 1142, focused on establishing14 a domestic violence registry in the State of Georgia, diligentl y assisting with research,15 drafting materials, and preparation for committee discussions; and16 WHEREAS, Zoreida aspires to pursue a career as a Georgia State Trooper, where she can17 serve and protect her community while promoting public safety and justice; and18 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this19 remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that21 the members of this body recognize and commend Zoreida Reyes-Garcia for her efficient,22 effective, unselfish, and dedicated public service to the State of Georgia and extend the most23 sincere best wishes for continued health and happiness.24 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized25 and directed to make an appr opriate copy of t his resolution ava ilable for distribution to26 Zoreida Reyes-Garcia.27 H.
