A RESOLUTION
Honoring the life and memory of Mrs. Eloise Branton; and for other purposes.1
WHEREAS, Mrs. Eloise Branton was a woman of unwavering faith, strength, and devotion2
whose life was marked by love, service, and perseverance; and3
WHEREAS, she was born on April 15, 1930, to the late Thomas and Iola Brown as the4
second of four children and was raised with values that would guide her throughout her life;5
and6
WHEREAS, Mrs. Branton received her education in the Leon County School System and7
went on to build a life centered on hard work, family, and community; and8
WHEREAS, she was united in holy matrimony to the late Samuel Branton, with whom she9
shared over 40 years of love and partnership; and10
WHEREAS, through her life's journey, she exemplified resilience , rising from humble11
beginnings in farm life to working in private homes, contributing to housekeeping services12
in Florida's capitol, and ultimately participating in the co-ow nership of a family funeral13
service business; and14

WHEREAS, at an early age, Mrs. Branton accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and was15
baptized under the leadership of Pastor George Wilson; she later became a devoted member16
of St. Peter Church, where she faithfully served for many years, including as a member of17
Choir #1, the Pallbearer Lodge, and the Eastern Star; and18
WHEREAS, Mrs. Branton departed this life on July 6, 2004, at 11 :36 PM, joining her19
beloved parents and husband in eternal rest; and20
WHEREAS, she leaves behind a powerful legacy through her loving family, including her21
children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended relatives, and countless loved ones,22
whose lives she touched with kindness, wisdom, and grace; and23
WHEREAS, her life serves as a testament to faith, family, and perseverance, and her memory24
continues to inspire all who knew and loved her.25
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that26
the members of this body honor the extraordinary life and legacy of Mrs. Eloise Branton and27
recognize her enduring contributions to her family, church, and community.28
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized29
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the30
family of Mrs. Eloise Branton.31
