26 LC 112 4179 House Resolution 2059 By: Representatives Hagan of the 156th and Beckles of the 96th A RESOLUTION Commending Zoreida Reyes-Garcia for her outstanding service as a legislative intern; and1 for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, Zoreida Reyes-Garcia of Peachtree Corners, Georgia, is a sophomore at Georgia3 Gwinnett College majoring in criminal justice; and4 WHEREAS, as a member of the inaugural cohort of the Georgia Gwinnett College Internship5 Program at the Georgia State Capitol, she has demonstrated a strong commitment to public6 service and civic engagement; and7 WHEREAS, during her service as a legislative intern for the Office of Representative Arlene8 Beckles, Zoreida Reyes-Garcia has contributed to legislative op erations through research,9 drafting bill analyses, preparing speeches and constituent communications, and supporting10 the office during committee meetings; and11 WHEREAS, most notably, she assisted with research, drafting materials, and preparation for12 committee discussions on House Bill 1142, which focused on esta blishing a domestic13 violence registry in the State of Georgia; and14 H. R. 2059 - 1 - 26 LC 112 4179 WHEREAS, through these responsibilities, she has gained valuable firsthand experience in15 the legislative process and developed a deeper understanding of how laws are researched,16 developed, and implemented to serve communities across the State of Georgia; and17 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this exemplar y individual be18 appropriately honored during this special time.19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that20 the members of this body commend Zoreida Reyes-Garcia for her s ervice as a legislative21 intern during the 2026 regular session of the General Assembly of Georgia and extend the22 most sincere best wishes for future success.23 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized24 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution ava ilable for distribution to25 Zoreida Reyes-Garcia.26 H.
