26 LC 112 4102 House Resolution 2043 By: Representatives Bonner of the 73rd, Smith of the 70th, Jenkins of the 136th, Glaize of the 67th, and Dawson of the 65th A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Bob Blackburn; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, Bob Blackburn has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for the2 vital role that he has played in leadership and his deep personal commitment to the welfare3 of the citizens of Georgia; and4 WHEREAS, he has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of his time,5 talents, and energy toward the betterment of his community and state, as evidenced6 dramatically by his nearly 14 years of superlative service as C oweta County District 37 Commissioner, completing four terms on the Board of Commissioners; and8 WHEREAS, during his exemplary tenure, Coweta County experienced one of the most9 transformative periods of growth in its modern history, with ex panding residential,10 commercial, and industrial development reshaping the community; and11 WHEREAS, he has contributed to significant initiatives and improvements throughout the12 county, including enhancements to the Walt Sanders Road railroad crossing, the construction13 of the county's administrative building, efforts to stabilize the county pension fund, and the14 revitalization of the Madras Center; and15 H. R. 2043 - 1 - 26 LC 112 4102 WHEREAS, Bob Blackburn's significant organizational and leadership talents, remarkable16 patience and diplomacy, keen sense of vision, and sensitivity to the needs of the citizens of17 Coweta County have earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues and associates;18 and19 WHEREAS, he is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for20 integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; and21 WHEREAS, Bob Blackburn has served with honor and distinction as Coweta County District22 3 Commissioner, and his vision and unyielding commitment to his fellow citizens have set23 the standard for public service; and24 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this25 remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately honored.26 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that27 the members of this body recognize and commend Bob Blackburn for his efficient, effective,28 unselfish, and dedicated public service to Coweta County and extend the most sincere best29 wishes for continued health and happiness.30 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized31 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Bob32 Blackburn.33 H.
