26 LC 129 1542 House Resolution 2018 By: Representatives Berry of the 56th, Bell of the 75th, and Holly of the 116th A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Christopher Lambry, Jr.; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, Christopher Lambry, Jr., of Atlanta, represents a rising generation of leadership2 defined not only by promise, but by purpose; and3 WHEREAS, a Political Science scholar at Morehouse College, Christopher currently serves4 as Student Government Association President-Elect, alongside his roles as Vice President of5 the NAACP chapter and Vice President of Morehouse Democrats; and6 WHEREAS, he was recognized as an Oprah Winfrey Scholar and one of Morehouse’s7 top-ranking scholars as well as served as a W.E.B. Du Bois Rese arch Scholar at Harvard8 University; and9 WHEREAS, within the Student Government Association, Christopher helped spearhead the10 “March to the Polls” initiative, mobilizing more than 300 HBCU students to engage in early11 voting and civic participation; and12 H. R. 2018 - 1 - 26 LC 129 1542 WHEREAS, his commitment to democracy extends beyond borders, ha ving served as an13 international election observer in South Africa, where he contributed to the global pursuit of14 free and fair elections; and15 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper to honor this remarkable young Georgian.16 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that17 the members of this body recognize and commend Christopher Lambry, Jr., congratulate him18 upon his election as 95th Student Government Association President of Morehouse College,19 and extend their sincere best wishes for his continued success.20 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized21 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution ava ilable for distribution to22 Christopher Lambry, Jr.23 H.
