26 LC 112 4200 House Resolution 2081 By: Representative Scott of the 76th A RESOLUTION Honoring the life and legacy of Ms. Tonia Louise Scott; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, it is with profound sorrow and heartfelt reverence tha t we honor the life and2 legacy of Ms. Tonia Louise Scott, a beloved daughter, sister, niece, and friend who entered3 eternal rest on May 8, 2023, in Miami, Florida; and4 WHEREAS, Ms. Tonia Louise Scott was born on April 15, 1981, in Junction City, Kansas,5 and was a cherished blessing to her loving parents, Jacqueline Louise Ramey of Clarksville,6 Tennessee, and Edward J. Scott of Rex, Georgia; and7 WHEREAS, she was a devoted and loving sister to Angela Nichole Purvis of Stockbridge,8 Georgia, Trent Damone Scott of Clarksville, Tennessee, and Arthur Fulson IV of Oxon Hill,9 Maryland; and10 WHEREAS, Tonia was a woman of strength, personality, and authenticity, known for her11 bold spirit, her humor, her intelligence, and her unwavering ability to speak her mind while12 remaining deeply caring and protective of those she loved; and13 H. R. 2081 - 1 - 26 LC 112 4200 WHEREAS, in 2013, she pursued her dream of living in Miami, Flo rida, where she14 embraced new opportunities, including volunteering at animal shelters and working as a chef,15 while cultivating her deep love and compassion for animals; and16 WHEREAS, her passion for animals led her to earn a Veterinarian Assistance License from17 Animal Behavioral College in Miami, Florida, demonstrating her commitment to care,18 service, and purpose; and19 WHEREAS, Tonia was known for her vibrant personality, her love of reality television, her20 curiosity about the world, and her unique ability to connect wi th others—often leaving a21 lasting impression through her humor, wisdom, and unforgettable presence; and22 WHEREAS, she shared a special bond with her beloved fur baby, Miko, and extended love23 to her nieces, Ilana Y. Colon-Waters and Miasia M. Scott, along with a host of aunts, uncles,24 cousins, and extended family who will forever cherish her memory; and25 WHEREAS, she is reunited in eternal peace with those who preceded her in death, including26 her grandfather, Elbert Scott; her brother, Edward Scott Jr.; h er grandparents, James B.27 Ramey and Ruby Delle Ramey, Ruby Jean "Aunty Deanie" Ramey, and other beloved family28 members who now welcome her home; and29 WHEREAS, though her time on this earth was far too brief, the love, laughter, strength, and30 unforgettable spirit of Ms. Tonia Louise Scott will forever remain in the hearts of those who31 knew and loved her.32 H. R. 2081 - 2 - 26 LC 112 4200 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that33 the members of this body honor and celebrate the life and legacy of Ms. Tonia Louise Scott34 and extend their deepest condolences to her family and loved ones.35 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized36 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the37 family of Ms. Tonia Louise Scott.38 H.
