26 LC 112 4170 House Resolution 2109 By: Representatives Stinson of the 150th, Reese of the 140th, Kahaian of the 81st, Herring of the 145th, and Mathis of the 133rd A RESOLUTION Honoring the life and memory of Brenda Sue Pike Oglesby; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, the State of Georgia mourns the loss of one of its most distinguished citizens2 with the passing of Brenda Sue Pike Oglesby on July 31, 2025, at 73 years old; and3 WHEREAS, a woman of deep and abiding faith, Brenda Sue Pike Ogl esby was a lifetime4 member of Cedar Valley Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday school teacher; and5 WHEREAS, she enjoyed a distinguished 46-year-long career as a family nurse practitioner6 with the State of Georgia Department of Public Health, and foll owing her retirement, she7 continued to work part-time with numerous counties; and8 WHEREAS, she was united in love and marriage to her husband, Te rry, and was blessed9 with two remarkable daughters, Jennifer and Meredith; four wonderful grandchildren; and10 two exceptional great-grandchildren; and11 WHEREAS, she gave inspiration to many through her high ideals, morals, and deep concern12 for her fellow citizens, and the devotion, patience, and unders tanding she demonstrated to13 her family and friends were admired by others; and14 H. R. 2109 - 1 - 26 LC 112 4170 WHEREAS, she was a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation15 for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness, and by the example she made of her life,16 she made this world a better place in which to live; and17 WHEREAS, a compassionate and generous woman, Brenda Sue Pike Oglesby will long be18 remembered for her love of family, friendship, and community and will be missed by all who19 had the great fortune of knowing her.20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that21 the members of this body join in honoring the life and memory of Brenda Sue Pike Oglesby22 and express their deepest and most sincere regret at her passing.23 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized24 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the25 family of Brenda Sue Pike Oglesby.26 H.
