26 LC 112 4225 House Resolution 2088 By: Representatives Dempsey of the 13th, Lumsden of the 12th, and Barton of the 5th A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending the 2026 Heart of Community Award of Honor recipient Jeb1 Arp; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, Jeb Arp has served the Rome and Floyd County community for decades as an3 educator, volunteer, and civic leader; and4 WHEREAS, Jeb serves on several boards of directors, including t he Rome Area Heritage5 Foundation as co-president and secretary, the Rome International Film Festival as a Film and6 Entertainment Society founding member, and the William S. Davie s Shelters Advisory7 Board; and8 WHEREAS, Jeb has participated in the Rome-Floyd County Commission on Children and9 Youth's "Are You Smarter Than a 3rd Grader?" competition, the B loom Closet PorchFest10 Planning Committee, the Neighborly Love sweatshirt fundraiser f or the Garden Lakes11 Elementary School staff appreciation fund, and the Junior Service League of Rome Follies;12 and13 H. R. 2088 - 1 - 26 LC 112 4225 WHEREAS, Jeb has shared his talents at Rome First United Methodist Church and Youth14 Ministry as a youth mentor, a member of the praise band, and a delegate to the North Georgia15 United Methodist Conference; and16 WHEREAS, Jeb has been honored with the 2020 Georgia Board of Realtors Humanitarian17 Award, was named "20 Under 40" in the 2016 Rome Life Magazine, and is a graduate of the18 Leadership Rome Class of 2013; and19 WHEREAS, Jeb's interests reflect a love of architecture, histor ic preservation, and20 community development, from restoring old homes to volunteering his time and patronizing21 fun and flashy events that support local arts and culture.22 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that23 the members of this body recognize Jeb Arp for his outstanding dedication to the community,24 commend him as a recipient of the 2026 Heart of Community Award of Honor, and extend25 the most sincere best wishes for continued success.26 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized27 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Jeb28 Arp.29 H.
