26 LC 112 4232 House Resolution 2113 By: Representative Kendrick of the 95th A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Reverend Dr. William E. Thomas Jr.; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, Reverend Dr. William E. Thomas Jr. has demonstrated hi s commitment to2 teaching the Gospel, witnessing Christ through word and deed, and addressing the physical,3 psychological, intellectual, and spiritual needs of others; and4 WHEREAS, on April 9, 2026, Reverend Dr. William E. Thomas Jr. will be inducted into the5 Morehouse College Board of Preachers during the 41st Annual Mar tin Luther King Jr.6 College of Ministries and Lay Ceremony; and7 WHEREAS, his vision and direction have helped New Bethel A.M.E. Church grow in size8 and influence, uplifting the community like the light of Bethlehem and serving as a spiritual9 leader and place for fellowship; and10 WHEREAS, over the past years leading New Bethel A.M.E. Church, Reverend Dr. William11 E. Thomas Jr. has established numerous programs and workshops which have improved the12 spiritual and educational growth of the church and the surrounding community; and13 H. R. 2113 - 1 - 26 LC 112 4232 WHEREAS, whether the task is preparing a sermon, visiting the s ick, counseling the14 troubled, baptizing a new believer, or acting as a theologian, educator, administrator, or15 humanitarian, Reverend Dr. William E. Thomas Jr. serves as a sh ining example of God's16 righteous path; and17 WHEREAS, the unmatched spiritual assistance offered by Reverend Dr. William E. Thomas18 Jr. is a source of strength and direction for persons in all walks of life; and19 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper to recognize the outstanding accomplishments20 of the dynamic Christian ministry of this devout and pious man.21 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that22 the members of this body recognize and commend Reverend Dr. William E. Thomas Jr. upon23 the grand occasion of his induction into the Morehouse College Board of Preachers and24 extend best wishes for many more years of successful fellowship and leadership.25 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized26 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution ava ilable for distribution to27 Reverend Dr. William E.
