26 LC 112 4222 House Resolution 2105 By: Representatives Dempsey of the 13th, Lumsden of the 12th, and Barton of the 5th A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending the 2026 Heart of Community Award of Honor recipient Ghee1 Wilson; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, Ghee Wilson has served as a Special Agent with the Geo r g i a B u r e a u o f3 Investigation; and4 WHEREAS, Ghee has given his time and leadership to organization s that directly impact5 vulnerable populations with visible, hands-on community engagement; and6 WHEREAS, Ghee has served on the Floyd County Planning Commission; as Past President7 and Board Member of the Northwest Georgia Sexual Assault Center; as Past President of the8 Coosa Valley Fraternal Order of Police; as Board Member of the Community Criminal9 Justice Foundation; as Board Member of the Salvation Army; and as part of the 201710 SPLOST Citizens Advisory Committee; and11 WHEREAS, Ghee has participated in the Rome Celebrity Dance Chal lenge; 202512 Rome/Floyd County Commission on Children and Youth "Are You Sma rter Than a 3rd13 Grader"; the Floyd Against Drugs Murder Mystery Dinner 2021-pre sent; as the Grand14 H. R. 2105 - 1 - 26 LC 112 4222 Marshall Walk A Mile in Her Shoes 2022; and the 2018 Prom King for the Night to15 Remember Adult Prom - Alzheimer's Association benefit; and16 WHEREAS, Ghee has served as a Community Judge for the Floyd Cou nty Technology17 Competition; coordinated Shop with a Cop in Floyd County for 10 years; is an active18 member of Rome Georgia Cares; is a Read Across America Volunteer; and assisted in raising19 money for a local family to get a home at Christmas; and20 WHEREAS, Ghee Wilson has been the recipient of the following awards: 2023 Outstanding21 Citizen Award from Lindale VFW; two-time recipient of the Joe Adams; Community Service22 Award from the Floyd County Sheriff's Office; and the 2021 GBI Deputy Directors Award23 for Investigative Excellence; and24 WHEREAS, Special Agent Ghee Wilson has demonstrated that service is not simply part of25 his profession, it is central to who he is.26 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that27 the members of this body recognize Ghee Wilson for his outstand ing dedication to the28 community, commend him as a recipient of the 2026 Heart of Community Award of Honor,29 and extend the most sincere best wishes for continued success.30 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized31 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Ghee32 Wilson.33 H.
