26 LC 112 3989 House Resolution 2095 By: Representative Bell of the 75th A RESOLUTION Commending Dem Franchize Boyz for their significant contributio ns to Atlanta's musical1 culture and their role in popularizing snap music; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, the City of Atlanta has long been recognized as one of the world's most3 influential centers of musical creativity and innovation, produ cing generations of artists,4 producers, DJs, and entrepreneurs whose work has shaped the global sound of hip-hop and5 popular music; and6 WHEREAS, Atlanta's historic Westside communities, including nei ghborhoods such as7 Bankhead, have served as a key incubator of cultural expression and musical innovation,8 producing generations of artists, producers, and creative pioneers whose work helped shape9 the evolution of snap music, trap music, and modern hip-hop; and10 WHEREAS, institutions such as Frederick Douglass High School in Atlanta, Georgia, have11 played a vital role in cultivating talent and leadership that have carried the spirit and sound12 of Atlanta's Westside from local neighborhoods to audiences across the nation and around13 the world; and14 H. R. 2095 - 1 - 26 LC 112 3989 WHEREAS, Dem Franchize Boyz, consisting of members Parlae, Pimpin', Jizzal Man, and15 Buddie, emerged from Atlanta's thriving music community and became pioneers of the snap16 music movement; and17 WHEREAS, the group gained national recognition with their breakout single "White Tee,"18 which became a cultural phenomenon and introduced audiences acr oss the country to19 Atlanta's emerging snap music style; and20 WHEREAS, their follow-up hit "Lean wit It, Rock wit It" further propelled the group to21 national prominence, becoming a defining anthem of the snap mus ic era and inspiring a22 generation of dance culture and youth expression across the United States; and23 WHEREAS, through their music, creativity, and entrepreneurial spirit, Dem Franchize Boyz24 helped solidify Atlanta's reputation as a global capital of hip-hop and demonstrated the power25 of local culture to influence worldwide musical trends; and26 WHEREAS, the snap music movement that emerged from Atlanta in t he early 2000s27 represents a significant cultural contribution of the City of Atlanta and the State of Georgia,28 influencing the evolution of Southern hip-hop, dance culture, a nd modern popular music29 around the world.30 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that31 the members of this body commend Dem Franchize Boyz for their outstanding contributions32 to Atlanta's musical culture and for their lasting influence on the evolution of snap music and33 hip-hop.34 H. R. 2095 - 2 - 26 LC 112 3989 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized35 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Dem36 Franchize Boyz.37 H.
