26 LC 129 1547 House Resolution 2103 By: Representative Lumsden of the 12th A RESOLUTION Commending Will Groce, Trion High School's 2026 STAR Student; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, a gifted student at Trion High School, Will Groce has been recognized for2 superlative achievement and selected as Trion High School's 2026 STAR Student; and3 WHEREAS, to be selected as a STAR Student, a student must have obtained the highest4 score in one administration of the three-part Scholastic Aptitu de Test and be in the top 105 percent or top ten students of his or her class; and6 WHEREAS, each school has one STAR Student who in turn has the opportunity to choose7 a STAR Teacher who has been inspiring and encouraging throughou t that student's high8 school career; and9 WHEREAS, educator Josh Smith was chosen by Will as Trion High School's 2026 STAR10 Teacher for the great support and guidance provided throughout the years; and11 WHEREAS, Will has personified the selfless dedication, mental agility, verbal adroitness,12 and personal maturity necessary for superlative academic performance; and13 H. R. 2103 - 1 - 26 LC 129 1547 WHEREAS, a proper quality education for the young people of this state is the single most14 important objective of the General Assembly, and Will has shown by academic15 accomplishment that the pursuit and attainment of scholastic success are within the reach of16 the students in this state; and17 WHEREAS, the State of Georgia looks with great anticipation tow ard the future of this18 bright and promising young citizen.19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that20 the members of this body heartily commend Will Groce for being named Trion High School's21 2026 STAR Student and express their most sincere best wishes fo r continued academic22 success.23 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized24 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Will25 Groce.26 H.
